For IOC president, Brazil can be proud of its organisation of the World Cup

Thomas Bach and Minister Aldo Rebelo discussed the Olympics with President Dilma

The president of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Thomas Bach, met with President Dilma Rousseff at the Planalto Palace to discuss the organisation of the Rio de Janeiro 2016 Olympic Games. At the occasion, he also commented on the Brazilian government’s efforts in the organisation of the World Cup. “Brazil can be very proud of the organisation of the World Cup, and we are sure that during the 2016 Olympics the world will see what Brazil represents: passion and efficiency at the same time”.

Bach said he noticed great progress since the last visit to inspect the works for the 2016 Olympics. “We are happy not only to hear that there is commitment, but also to see that the President, the government and the IOC have the same priority, which is to make these games a success not only in the sports and organisation side, but rather to make these Olympic Games a success in terms of legacy and social engagement," praised Bach.
